Silkscreen
Screen printing is at the heart of what we do.
Our silkscreen print studio is led by head printer and Bicep Press founder, Jonny Akers. With over 15 years experience Jonny is renowned across the art world for his exceptional talent and meticulous approach to silkscreen printing.
Every part of the print process is carried out in house by our dedicated team. From innovative artwork preparation and screen making, to printing and finishing.
Our highly skilled team can help transform your artwork into a limited edition silkscreen
Artwork preparation
Artwork preparation is a fundamental part of the printing process, we take great care in creating separations to ensure the best results on the press. With many years experience we’ve perfected a variety of different processes that can be tailored to each project.
Inks & finishes
We specialise in hand-pulled silkscreen printing utilising a tried and tested water-based ink system. We also provide speciality inks and finishes such as Fluorescents, Metallic, Pearl, Ultra Violet, Graphite and glow in the dark inks.
Our team is skilled at embellishing prints with a variety of metal leafs, including 24-carat gold, silver and copper, along with a range of imitation metals and variegated leaf.
Papers
We use fine art cotton rag paper for the majority of our editions. We primarily use Somerset papers, as the mill is local to us and we believe their papers are the best the market has to offer.
Collaboration
We’re always up for welcoming artists to come and work with us in the studio on editions. Whether that’s creating artwork onto truegrain, or working directly onto the screens, our studio (and Jonny!) are available for hire to create truly unique editions.
Packing and Shipping
We pack and ship our work with the utmost care and attention. Each print is interleaved with acid-free tissue paper, custom made crates are hand-made for every order that’s shipped. All editions are shipped with a dedicated fine art handler, whether domestic or international, to ensure safe delivery of your edition.
